AI & Automation | Managed AI

AI that gives your firm its time back.

Managed AI is our strategic partnership for architecture and engineering firms putting AI to work. We assess where it fits, pick the right tools, set the guardrails, train your team, and measure the hours that come back. We stay accountable for the outcome.

Our promise Results, or you don’t pay.

The Opportunity

The work that buries your best people is the work AI does well.

RFI responses. Spec review. Meeting minutes. Code research. Hunting for the detail that worked on a job three years ago. None of it requires genius. All of it eats the hours of the people you most want focused on design and clients.

60%

of an A&E team’s workday is spent hunting for information buried across files, spreadsheets, and email threads. (Monograph)

77%

of AEC firms miss deadlines because project information is hard to find. (Newforma, 2025)

Why Resolved

A rare intersection

Custom AI for a firm takes three things at once: real data governance, deep knowledge of how the work actually flows, and consulting that ties it to business outcomes. AI vendors lack the IT and governance foundation. Most IT firms lack the AI knowledge.

We have both, and we’ve been building toward this for nearly two years.

Your Fractional CIO

Reid McConkey

On AI engagements, Reid owns the business strategy: where AI fits your market position, your growth, and your priorities. Because AI is a new and fast-moving offering, he stays hands-on, shaping each engagement in real time as we learn and adapt.

Your Fractional Chief AI Officer

Chris Briggs

Chris leads the AI work end to end: the build, the governance, and the integration into how your team works day to day. He designed the platform architecture, and leads Solutions at Resolved.

Wherever You Are

We meet your firm where it is

There’s no wrong starting point. The right first move depends on what your team is already doing.

No AI yet

You know it matters. You don’t have a plan.

Two or three people are already using ChatGPT on personal accounts to get work done. It’s inconsistent and it’s a risk. We figure out what work in your firm actually benefits from AI, pick the right tools, set the guardrails so your data stays where it should, and train your team.

Already using AI

Your team is leaning in. Nobody’s steering.

Most firms haven’t written down what AI is allowed to be used for, and can’t see what’s being shared. We turn ad-hoc use into a sanctioned strategy with governance and guardrails, so the same people save more time because they’re using it right.

AI as capacity

You want the output of an extra hire.

AI won’t replace an architect or engineer. But it can give your existing team 20 to 50 percent of an extra person’s capacity. We find the specific tasks where that math works, set it up, train the team, and measure the hours back. You decide whether to spend that capacity on growth, mentoring, or deferring the hire.

Foundation First

Safe AI needs a foundation under it

Whatever AI can do for you, it can do to you. Before any integration moves forward, there are foundational steps that have to be in place: how your data is organized and governed, who has access to what, and how your firm is secured.

That’s why AI and managed IT belong together. As your technology partner, we get the foundation right first, then build AI on top of it, so the result is an advantage rather than a liability. If you don’t yet have that foundation, a Strategic Technology Assessment is the place to start.

The Path

Prove value first. Expand from evidence.

We don’t recommend a firm-wide rollout on day one. We start with a free pilot on one real project, then grow from a position of proof.

Phase 1

Search & Retrieval

Ask the Archive goes live: full search across your project history, cited answers, your existing permissions respected, and an audit trail. This is where the hours come back first.

Phase 1.5

Draft & Check

AI assistance for the writing-heavy work: first-pass RFI responses in your firm’s voice, submittal review, and code-currency alerts that flag when a referenced edition has changed.

Phase 2

Workflow & Custom Tools

Once the foundation proves itself, we build automations and custom tools around how your firm actually works, from proposal drafting to scanning bid sites every morning for jobs you qualify for.

Built With Guardrails

Governance designed in, not bolted on

The whole point is to get the upside of AI without handing your client data or project IP to a consumer tool. Four principles hold from day one.

Runs on your network

The system lives on your own infrastructure. Your documents stay inside your building. No consumer AI subscription, no training on your data.

Your permissions are the permissions

Access is tied to your identity provider. If someone can’t open a folder today, the AI can’t pull from it either. Financial and HR data stay segregated.

The AI proposes, your team decides

The system drafts, summarizes, and cites. It never stamps a drawing, files an RFI, or makes a compliance call. A licensed professional always reviews before anything leaves your office.

Every answer is cited

Responses link back to the source file, project, and page. When the system can’t find a reliable answer, it says so instead of guessing.

We Eat Our Own Cooking

We built it for ourselves first

Resolved is an AI-native business, not because AI replaces our people, but because it’s woven into how they work. Our team runs on Resolved OS, a platform we built ourselves, with AI assistance embedded throughout, from client dashboards and QBR reporting to strategic assessments. We didn’t buy our operating system. We built it, the same way we now build custom AI software for clients.

That platform represents roughly $200,000 of our own engineering, built deliberately as our differentiator. When off-the-shelf tools don’t fit how a firm actually works, we build custom software around the workflow instead of forcing the workflow around the tool. You get a team that has already done this, on its own data, before touching yours.

The Full Stack We Deliver

  • 01

    Strategy & Roadmap

Partner-level. An embedded Fractional CIO and Chief AI Officer set the AI investment decisions, the roadmap, and what to build next.

  • 02

    Custom Software & AI Integration

We choose what to build based on what moves your outcomes, then design it, build it, integrate it, and support it.

  • 03

    Adoption, Training & Risk

Firm-wide rollout, AI champions, usage tracking, an AI usage policy, a shadow-AI scan, and your private knowledge base.

A note on fit. We built this for architecture and engineering firms, and that is where our depth is. But the model, an outcomes-based partnership that builds custom AI software around how you work, applies to any document-heavy, knowledge-driven business. If that sounds like your firm, the conversation is the same.

See it on your own data, free

The best way to evaluate this is with your own work. We index one project from your archive and let your team try it for a week. If it saves time, we talk about going further. If it doesn’t, we shake hands and you’re not out anything.
